Feed your Hair This Thanksgiving!

The events from Thanksgiving through the New Year can have us all in a scramble to have fresh, beautiful, "I was born with this color" hair for every event. It can be hard to schedule these appointments so your hair stays perfect, free of split ends, and with great color from the first bite of Thanksgiving turkey, through the holiday gifts, and to the strike of twelve on New Year's Eve. Let's break down how to schedule those hair appointments for every situation.
For Cut and Color
This advice is for the ladies that change your overall hair color, either to cover gray or dramatically change your natural color all together. You may do an all over color, a highlight, or a combination of the two. You typically visit our hairstylist every 4 to 8 weeks to keep your color fresh and the gray covered.

My advice to you is to schedule that first appointment one to two weeks before Thanksgiving. This will give you great color that will still be fresh (with minimal to no regrowth) for the Thanskgiving feast. Your next appointment should be made to fall the week before or the week of Christmas. This schedule will ensure that your hair will look great through the New Year. If you highlight, opt for a partial highlight at your December appointment to save a little money.
For Cut and Highlight/Lowlight
If your color routine is only a slight change from your natural color, and you typically refresh your color every 6 to 12 weeks, only one color appointment for the holidays is likely necessary. I recommend refreshing your cut and color as close to Thanksgiving as possible. This way, you'll experience only 4 to 5 weeks of growth before the New Year.  You may want to schedule a light trim at the end of December to ensure a fresh look for New Year's Eve celebrations.

For Haircut Only
If you only cut your hair, an appointment a few weeks before Thanksgiving and again just before Christmas will give your style a fresh look for every Kodak moment of the holiday season.

Holiday Salon Tips
  • Schedule Early: make all of your holiday appointments as early as possible. The holidays are a very busy time at the salon. I recommend that you set all of your holiday appointments NOW--the salon books fast this season.
  • Product Advice: ask our expert stylist for advice on our KERASTASE PARIS hair products that will save you time styling during the holidays. Time is precious when you're busy cooking, cleaning, shopping, and entertaining. Remember, the dry months of winter start creeping up on us during the holidays. Make sure you have the right moisture balance for great hair days.
  • Save Money:  Elie Esper Salon will be running promotional sales. Make sure you ask about discounts and deals when scheduling your holiday hair appointments. To keep up to date, you may also find us at Elie Esper Salon Facebook Fan Page
  • Add Elie Esper Salon to Your Christmas Wish List: if you regularly get your hair done, let Santa know that a gift certificate would make a great gift. Giving the gift of beauty is fun too. Perhaps a gift certificate for hair services or your favorite hair product would make a great gift for someone on your list.
Happy Holidays from Elie Esper Salon
